Lori Fithian has been facilitating drum circles and leading workshops for the last five years. She has played hand drums and studied many different drumming traditions since 1990. However, playing on tupperware bowls as a child seems to be the real beginning of her rhythmical career. Having played the French horn since the fifth grade, she brings a life-long love of music and rhythm to her drum circles and workshops.

She has studied drum circle facilitation techniques with Arthur Hull, author of Drum Circle Spirit – Empowering Human Potential Through Rhythm. She has also trained under Dr. Barry Bittman, MD, neurologist and co-founder of HealthRhythms, a drum circle protocol developed for wellness centers. She is a graduate of both of their intensive training programs.

Lori is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a Bachelor’s in Fine Art. After several years working as an artist and picture framer, she became involved in community-building through her work at the People’s Food Cooperative in Ann Arbor. Her love for people and the desire to share her rhythmical bliss led her to create her life’s work, Drummunity. Now she travels around with her drums and enthusiastic spirit, creating rhythm and community wherever she goes.
